Apprentice Machine Technician


Due to continued growth, Quartzcoil are now seeking an Apprentice Machine Technician to drive high standards of work and Continuous improvement in process and quality whilst working as part of the Quartzcoil production team.

  

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

Responsibilities and Duties may include:

  • Work safely and attentively at all times
  • Fully adhere to quality procedures with a right first time approach
  • To participate in the apprentice programme with motivation and conscientious rotatingthrough the business unit to experience all aspects of the coil manufacturing processes
  • Fully buy into a continuous improvement culture
  • Attending lectures, practical sessions, and visits as per training provider learning pla
  • To complete and pass all assignments by deadline set
  • To attend the workplace during non-term time
  • sAlways adhere to company policies and procedure
  • Work with MGTS external assessor to produce workplace assessment training plans

Your key responsibilities and accountability on completion of your apprenticeship may include:

  • Producing Components using Hand Fitting Techniques
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and work instruction
  • Have basic measurement skills, tape measure, micrometre, Vernier calliper and go no go gauges
  • Ability to work on own initiative or part of a team
  • Show drive, enthusiasm and be motivated to succeed with willingness to take ownership

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

This is a 4-year apprenticeship resulting in a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering. The first year will be spent learning core practical and theoretical elements of the role. For the following years, apprentices will attend college on a day release basis to complete the necessary educational requirements for the programme.

We are seeking motivated and ambitious individuals to join our team who possess or are predicted to gain 4 x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be at Grade C/ 4-5 equivalent or above including maths, English and Science.

The following qualifications are attained through this apprenticeship:

  •          Level 3 certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)
  •          Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Operations
