Senior Projects Manager


We are now seeking a highly motivated individual to lead and manage the ABRM (Aberdeen Rotating Machines) projects team, working as part of the local management team to ensure the overall objectives of the business are achieved.

As the Senior Projects Manager, you will have the responsibility for ensuring best practices in quality, cost control, resource efficiency, risk management, and health, safety, and environment are achieved across all projects

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountability

  • Lead the project team, defining goals, outputs, allocating project tasks, and motivating and monitoring internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones. Provide performance feedback regarding allocated resources working on projects
  • Manage the standard of project governance documents, including schedule, risk, HSE, quality, financial and risk management plans, ensure compliance with all Company Policies to achieve right first time and customer satisfaction
  • Understand contracts, read, interpret, and implement appropriate controls utilising support from the Management and Commercial team as required
  • Monitor and control project P&L, ensuring accuracy of tender estimates, overseeing project invoicing, costs, expenses, and cash flow. Working with the project managers to identify, quantify and manage project risks and opportunities
  • Ensure contract and claims management is being consistently applied across all projects
  • Capture, analyse and share lessons learned across all projects. Ensures projects are formally closed out, driving the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer
  • Act as key contact for escalation of project issues. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate with all stakeholders
  • Working as part of the management team to define project scopes and objectives, ensuing technical feasibility and allocation of resources. Collaborating with Sale Management to identify and developing new and existing business opportunities

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • At least +7 years proven track record in a Project Management role within the electro-mechanical industry
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion and interest in serving customers and exceeding expectations
  • An ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure
  • Interpersonal skills at all organisational levels, with the ability to motivate people and engender a culture of team working to achieve the aims of the business
  • Proven commercial knowledge, excellent negotiation skills and experience
  • Experience with rotating equipment in service or manufacture environment
